Zum ersten Mal müssen wir unsere  Liza alleineauf den Weg schicken und selbst den Flieger nehmen. Wir verbringen die ersten Tage in Indonesien in Medan und erledigen einige Besorgungen hier, während wir auf Liza warten. Medan ist nicht wirklich unsere Welt - groß, verstopft und schmutzig und sofort nachdem wir endlich unsere Liza eingesammelt haben geht es zum Gunung Leuser Nationalpark, die Orang Utans besuchen

For the first time we have to send our Liza across the water on her own and catch up with her using a plane. We arrive in Medan before our bike does and use the time to run some errands while we wait for our good girl. Medan is not really our cup of tea - too big, too congested and too dirty as soon as we have our transport back we're off to the Gunung Leuser National Park and see the orangutans

wir haben eine recht abenteuerliche Fahrt zum Toba See mit recht viel Drama im Dschungel aber dann eine wunderschöne Zeit auf Samosir, eine Insel mitten im See und dank der Höhenlage wunderbar kühl. Hier leben die Batak, zu 95% Christen und sie haben eine völlig eigene Kultur

we have quite an adventurous ride to lake Toba with lots of drama in the jungle but then a lovely time on Samosir - the island in the lake and thanks to the elevation it is lovely and cool up here. Home to the Batak people which are mostly christian and have a completely different culture

Von hier aus ging es nach Bukitinggi, wo wir zum ersten Mal den Äquator überqueren - ein aufregender Tag , dort halten wir uns allerdings nicht mehr allzulang auf, denn 3 unserer 8 Wochen Indonesienvisum sind schon um und es gibt noch viel zu sehen

From here we ride to Bukitinggi and cross the Equator for the first time - quite exciting stuff. We don't stop here for long though as we have only 5 more weeks of visa left and a lot to see yet
