Am 07.10. reisen wir in Laos ein. Hier ist die ganze "Chinatruppe" gerade über die Grenze gekommen. Bis auf 2 fahren wir gemeinsam nach Luang Nam Tha, um dort erst einmal für eine Woche auszuspannen. Wir alle und unsere Fahrzeuge haben etwas Zuwendung und Ruhe nötig

On the 07th of the 10th we arrive in Laos. Here ist the whole "China-troup" just after crossing the border. Apart from 2 we travel from here to LuangNamTha together to get a weeks rest. We and our vehicles need some TLC and respite

We reach Luang Prabang just before the end of budhist lent and the light festival so we decide to stay a few days to see this spectacle. Everywhere they are making boats and it's a hive of activity to prepare it all. We watch the boat races on the Mekong, have a look at the former royal palace, the city and the near-by waterfall

Über Berge und durch Täler führt uns unser Weg von Luang Prabang nach Vientiane. Vorbei an Vang Vieng entlang des Daches von Laos. Unterwegs haben wir ein paar Probleme - unsere Radlager hinten sind hin und Johan kommt ohne Kette am Ende eines Abschleppseils an

Over mountains and through valleys goes our journey from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. We go past Vang Vieng along the roof of Lao. On the way we have some problems - our back wheel bearings are done in and Johan arrives in the capitol at the end of a toeing-rope.

In Vientiane vertreiben wir unsere Zeit in der wir auf die Thaivisa warten - das dauert eine Weile und wir beschäftigen uns derweil überwiegend mit bummeln und damit, unsere Mopeds wieder fit zu machen. Die Stadt ist eher kleinstädtisch und hat nicht allzuviel zu bieten, aber wir genießen die entspannte Atmosphäre, schauen uns die Tempel und den Buddhapark an. Es dauert fast eine Woche, bis wir die Visa alle beisammen haben, dann geht es über die Freundschaftsbrücke ins nächste Land

In Vientiane we have to waste some time while we wait for our Thai-visas - this takes quite a while and we busy ourselves with sightseeing and getting the bikes fit again. The ctiy is more like a rural small-town and there are not an awful lot of sights to see but we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, have a look at the temples and the buddha park. It takes almost a week until we all have our visa and then we leave the country via the friendship bridge
