Ohne weiter Probleme haben wir es in die Mongolei geschafft, man hat unsere Pässe auf der russischen Seite mindestens 4 mal genauestens inspiziert (als ob sich in den 10 Metern die zwischen jeder Inspektion lagen irgendwas geändert haben könnte!). Dafür läuft am mongolischen Zoll alles locker mit Lächeln und Späßen - wir freuen uns schon sehr auf das dazugehörende Land

Without further problems we have made it to Mongolia, they have controlled our passports at least 4 times on the Russian side of the border ( as if anything can have changed within 10 metres!) Therefore everything on the Mongolian controls went easy with smiles and fun making - we are realy looking forward to this country.

Ulan Bataar, eine Stadt im Dauerstau und gleichzeitig ein Dorf, wo Kühe mitten in der Stadt weiden und Schafe auf dem Markt verkauft werden. UB hat eine Einwohnerzahl von etwas mehr als einer Mio. (in Peking gibt es allein über 4 Mio. Autos) hier gibt es festgelegte Fahrzeiten nach Nummernschild, aber trotzdem ist die Verkehrssituation das reinste Chaos.

Ulan Bator is a city in parmajam and at the same time it's a village where cowns grase in the middle of the city and sheep are being sold on the market. UB has just over 1 mio. inhabitants (just for comarison - Beijing has 4 mio. cars). They have set days when certain number plates are not allowed on the road but still the traffic situation is pure chaos

Das Oasis: Treffpunkt, Herberge, Anlauf- Austauschstation und Falle für Fernreisende aller Art. Manch einer wollte eine Nacht bleiben und ehe er sichs versah war ein Monat draus geworden. Man kann hier ein Zimmer oder einen Schlafplatz im Gher bekommen, sein Fahrzeug reparieren, die Wäsche für 2,-€ waschen lassen, zum Frisör gehen, das Internet nutzen, Reisegeschichten hören und losweren, essen, trinken, die eigene und alle anderen Batterien aufladen.........

Wenn auch nicht wirklich billig, aber es ist es wert!!

The Oasis: meeting point, guesthouse, rest- and exchange station and trapp for long distance travellers of all kinds. There have been quite some people wanting to stay one night and ended up being here for a month. On can get a bed in a room or in a traditional gher, repair ones vehicle, have laundry done for less than 2 quid, have a hair cut, use the internet, hear travel stories or get rid of them, eat, dink, reacharge the own and all other batteries......

It's not really cheap but well worth it !!!!

Der Schwarze Markt ist kein Schwarzmarkt, sondern der größte Basar in UB (obwohl hier sicher auch auch Illegales zu finden ist), es gibt hier so ziemlich alles, was das Herz begehrt und natürlich auch eine extra Abteilung für Fahrzeuge wo man vom gebrauchten LKW Motor bis zu unseren Radlagern alles findet . Wir wurden allerdngs von allen Seiten gewarnt, Taschendiebe sind hier zu Hauf unterwegs und so sollte man nicht mehr dabeihaben, als man verschmerzen kann zu verlieren.

The Black Market is not A black market, it's the biggest basar in UB, you can find anything here (I suppose illegal things too) - you just have to look for it. There is one part just for vehicle parts and you find anything from lorry engines to our wheel barings.

We habe been warned by many people though - it's full of pick pockets and should should not carry more than you can bear to loose!

Hier wollten wir unser Zelt aufschlagen, als wir von Christian Wolf zu einer recht internationalen Grillparty eingeladen wurden - vielen Dank euch allen noch mal für die Gastfreundschaft

This is where we planned to camp when we were invited by Christian Wolf to a very nice rather international BBQ - thanks to all for the hospitality again

Unser nächste Ziel - das Kloster liegt recht abseits und zumindest der Weg hin war zwar schwierig, aber schön, wir haben recht steile Sandpisten und auch Flussdurchquerungen zu bewältigen - aber zu so was sagt Kev ja nur Yeehaa !

Die Landschaft um das Kloster herum war ebenfalls nur WOW.

Our next goal - the monasterry is not on the beaten path and the way to get there not really easy but very nice - we have to climb steep sandy pites and cross 2 rivers - well you know Kev - his comment was: " Yeehaa!"

The landscape around the monastery can only be described with WOW!!!!

Das Wetter war zwar weiterhin sehr temperamentvoll und so richtig warm war dieser mongolische Sommer auch noch nicht, aber das macht die Landschaft schon wett

The wheather really did not play our game and this Mongolian summer was not really warm either but the landscapes more than made up for that
