Das Erste was wir nach  2 schlaflosen Nächten und der langen Anreise bewußt wahrnehmen ist die Villa Kunterbunt in Valparaiso. Hier warten wir auf die Ankunft unserer Liza und machen die ersten zögerlichen Schritte auf diesem neuen Kontinent - wie immer eine Herausforderung und diesmal ist es so richtig schwer, sich verständlich zu machen

The Villa Kunterbunt is the first thing we actually see of this new continent as we arrived rather brain dead after the long flight and two sleepless nights.

Here we wait for Liza to arrive and take our first steps into the new and different culture. It's

a bit of a challenge and this time we have quite some trouble to  make ourselves understood

Wir lernen schnell - Chilenen sind gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit und obwohl es schwer ist vor der Hauptsaison einen Platz fürs Zelt zu finden und unser spanisch genauso schlecht ist, wie die Englischkenntnisse der Einheimischen fühlen wir uns hier schon gleich wohl

We learn quickly that Chileans are helpful and hospitable and even though it is hard to find campsites out of the main season and even though our Spanish is as bad as the English of the locals we already quite like the place

Valdivia ist eine wirklich hübsche Stadt, die wir nach den ersten Reparaturen gern erkunden. Leider haben wir auf dem Weg nach Patagonien immer wieder Probleme mit den Motorbolzen und so kommen wir schließlich nur bis Hornopiren an der Carretera Austral bis wir beschließen, nach Argentinien und von dort aus in Richtung Süden zu fahren

Valdivia really is beautiful and we enjoy exploring the area after the first repairs. Unfortunately we have many more Problems with our bike on the way south and when we finally reach Hornopiren an der Carretera Austral we finally decide to turn around and try our luck in Argentinia
